For cybersecurity professionals, credibility and compliance are critical factors when selecting training and certification programs. Hack The Box Certified Penetration Testing Specialist (CPTS) has been officially recognized by FedRAMP with the latest 3PAO requirements revision – reinforcing its status as a secure and trusted training platform.
The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) is a U.S. government initiative that standardizes security assessments, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services used by federal agencies. It ensures that cloud-based solutions meet stringent security requirements before being implemented within government infrastructures.
For a service to receive FedRAMP endorsement, it must undergo rigorous testing and continuous monitoring to validate compliance with federal cybersecurity standards. But what does this recognition mean for cybersecurity experts, organizations, and government agencies?
The penetration tester role’s experience and certification levels were revised for closer alignment with the DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program requirements for training, and managing a cybersecurity workforce.
HTB CPTS has been evaluated as a solution according to the requirement 6.1.1 F.3, creating outstanding penetration testers with the highest level of proficiency in the market.
“3PAOs (third party assessment organizations) must have a personnel type that is a “penetration tester”, for each FedRAMP assessment, that has the technical competence to perform a penetration test as part of the assessment scope. This individual must have the technical competence to be able to lead the penetration test, in accordance with FedRAMP Penetration Test Guidance and requirements. This person must also be proficient in planning, executing, and reporting on all facets of the penetration test. A 3PAO penetration tester must have two years of penetration testing experience and at least one industry certification related to enhancing the knowledge and skills needed to perform penetration testing activities.”
Finally, 3PAOs indicated that it was critical for their organizations to align FedRAMP personnel certification requirements with other major government compliance programs to allow maximum flexibility for how they staff assessments.
This latest endorsement confirms Hack The Box as a leading vendor in the cybersecurity professional development space, possessing validated security standards, government trust, and streamlined compliance.
This endorsement provides significant benefits for cybersecurity professionals and organizations looking to scale cyber capabilities:
Increased industry recognition: With FedRAMP validation, HTB CPTS is now an even stronger credential for professionals aiming to advance in the field of penetration testing and offensive security.
Trusted training environment: Individuals and organizations can trust that HTB CPTS meets the highest security standards, ensuring a safe and compliant learning experience.
Unlocked career opportunities: Government agencies and contractors often require training from recognized providers. HTB CPTS’s new FedRAMP status opens doors to career opportunities within public sector cybersecurity roles.
FedRAMP recognition marks a pivotal step in ensuring that penetration testers are trained and meeting the DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program standards. HTB CPTS is only the beginning toward broader recognition in all knowledge domains.
Whether you are a government contractor, a security team, or an individual cybersecurity professional, this is a clear sign that HTB is leading the way in next-generation security training.
