Operation Gilt Doctrine
Step into Wrenford Bank and investigate a breach that starts with a small exposure and escalates into a crisis involving payment integrity, fraud, and high-value transactions.
Can your team prove what happened?
Wrenford Bank has been breached. What initially looks like a contained compromise soon raises a much bigger question: which payments can the bank still trust?
Red Team recreates the attack inside a controlled environment, while Blue Team investigates the real incident using the evidence left behind. If they cannot piece together what happened, Wrenford will activate Gilt Doctrine, an emergency protocol that freezes selected high-value payments to contain the threat.
The problem? Freezing those payments could disrupt payroll, supplier payments, and treasury operations across Wrenford's enterprise customers.

Build skills across the full attack lifecycle
Operation Gilt Doctrine gives security teams a realistic environment to practise the technical and investigative skills needed to respond to a modern financial breach.
Red Team
Players take the attacker's perspective and work through the operation by identifying weaknesses, chaining attack paths, and exploring how technical access can lead to business impact.
Web & application security
Identify and investigate weaknesses in exposed applications and services.
Adversary emulation
Recreate realistic attack paths to understand how attackers move through an environment.
Identity & privilege
Investigate compromised identities, permissions, and access to sensitive systems.
Network security
Analyse network activity to identify suspicious behaviour and trace attacker movement.
Business logic security
Identify weaknesses in how applications and processes handle critical business operations.
Blue Team
Players investigate the incident from the defender's perspective, correlating evidence across systems and records to establish what happened and what can still be trusted.
Incident response
Investigate incidents and establish what happened, when, and how.
Digital forensics
Examine digital evidence to uncover attacker activity and reconstruct events.
Threat detection
Identify suspicious behaviour and indicators of compromise across the environment.
Log analysis
Correlate logs and activity from multiple sources to build a clear incident timeline.
Investigation & analysis
Connect technical evidence with operational context to determine what was affected and what can still be trusted.
Built for the breach you can't afford to have
By the end of the Campaign, you'll have a concrete answer to a question every security leader eventually gets asked: could my team have caught this? It's not theoretical. It's tested over three months against a live scenario, built the way a real breach actually unfolds.
Identify
Recognise weaknesses and suspicious activity across complex environments.
Investigate
Correlate technical and operational evidence to reconstruct an incident.
Respond
Make informed decisions as an incident develops and its impact becomes clearer.
Communicate
Build an evidence-based understanding of what happened.
Three new scenarios every month.

A continuous investigation for your workforce
No leaderboard. This isn’t a competition between individuals but a shared investigation for your whole cybersecurity workforce.
A new set of scenarios drops monthly, each one a real, hands on Challenge, Sherlock and Machine.
Everyone keeps their individual, hands-on experience. The story just gives it a shared thread to compare notes on.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Will there still be exclusive content releases on HTB Enterprise Platform?
Instead of releasing monthly exclusive Machines, Sherlocks, and Challenges, we are introducing Campaigns. Still exclusive to organizations but wrapped around a story.
The goal is to help your team increase engagement by discussing scenarios, comparing findings, and building cross-functional awareness.
Do I need a separate subscription for this?
No, this is regularly released scenarios for all organizations on HTB Enterprise.
Can I explore content independently, or must an admin assign it?
Yes, you can. Either your admin will assign the released scenarios to a space, or you can access the announced scenarios of Operation Red Horizon through the HTB Enterprise Content Library.
