Kat started her career as a penetration tester and SOC Analyst, mitigating attack vectors on new wireless airplane components, using advanced cryptographic techniques. Moving into the incident response realm, primarily focusing on proactive services, she responded to security incidents globally and helped organisations contain and recover from cyber attacks. <br><br>Kat is a Recognised Public Speaker and has won the BCS Young IT Professional of the Year Award 2018, the Rising Star Award 2019 sponsored by the Sunday Times and the FDM EveryWoman Rising Star Award 2020. She is an experienced programmer in a variety of languages, having developed games, websites, apps and robots.

Ian possesses a breadth of private and public sector experience as a Systems Administrator, Security Analyst, Penetration Tester and IT Security Manager. This real-life experience as a practitioner, from all sides of the cybersecurity equation, provides insight into the key IT security issues affecting users, practitioners, IT & security managers, as well as companies and their supply chains. <br><br>Ian has a passion for life-long learning and gamified education, is driven to make cyber security education accessible for everyone, and has been creating content for Hack The Box and our awesome community since 2017.
